Electrical work needs
an approved inspection.

In Belgium a new installation cannot lawfully be put into service until an approved body has inspected it and found it compliant. We arrange that and hand you the report. An installation without one is not finished.

How we work

A general contractor, and the inspection is part of the job

REN GROUP is a company incorporated under Belgian law, registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under enterprise number 0740.661.019, based at 106 Grote Kouterstraat in 9120 Beveren-Kruibeke-Zwijndrecht. We hold the professional competence required for the trades we carry out and the ten-year civil liability insurance compulsory since the law of 31 May 2017.

Three things we do not shortcut. A new or substantially altered electrical installation must be inspected by an approved body and found compliant before it is put into service — we arrange it and give you the report. Gas appliance work is done only by a qualified installer. And in buildings from before 2001 an asbestos inventory is obtained before any stripping or demolition, with removal carried out exclusively by a licensed firm. Planning permission remains the client's to obtain, and we do not start without it.

Frequently asked

The questions we get most

Why does the electrical installation need inspecting?

Because Belgian law requires an approved inspection body to find a new or substantially altered installation compliant before it is put into service. Without that report you cannot lawfully use it and an insurer may decline a claim.

Who gets the planning permission?

You do, with your architect, unless we agree otherwise in writing. We check whether the works need one and we do not start before it is granted — a site stopped by the commune is an expensive way to save a week.

Can you remove the asbestos while you are there?

No. Removal is reserved to firms licensed for asbestos work. For buildings from before 2001 we obtain an inventory before stripping and stop if anything is found.

Can you guarantee the completion date?

We give a realistic programme and tell you when it moves. Weather, material delays and programme changes shift a build, and promising a fixed date regardless simply means working badly to meet it.

Why wait before tiling the floor?

Because a screed that is still drying will fail whatever is laid on it. We measure the moisture content rather than guessing from how it looks, which occasionally means waiting longer than anyone wants.

Do you do the architect's work too?

No. In Belgium the architect's mission is incompatible with the contractor's on the same works, so your architect stays independent of us. That separation protects you.
